Twelve migrants have been found dead and 15 rescued after a boat capsized in western Greece, authorities said, while a coastguard search continued for further possible survivors.
The merchant marine ministry said the incident occurred early on Friday off the coast of Lefkada, an island in the Ionian Sea. The migrants were presumed to have been heading towards Italy. There was no immediate indication of where the voyage originated.
