Only 200 Syrians entered Jordan on Thursday, the Jordan Armed Forces said, as thousands remain stranded on Syria’s side of the border due to ongoing shelling. Seven people were killed in Thursday’s border clashes, according to the Free Syrian Army, raising to 112 the total number of refugees who allegedly lost their lives in Damascus’ 15-day-old aerial offensive on southern Syria.
“Hundreds of women and children are without shelter or protection,” said Mohammad Al Nouri, an activist with the Syrian Local Coordination Committee in Al Nawa, where some 2,000 displaced people have reportedly taken refuge.
