The influx came as an ongoing siege by Syrian regime forces reportedly continued to prevent humanitarian aid and food supplies from reaching dozens of towns and villages across southern Syria, leaving thousands of civilians facing “starvation”.
Syrian activists and border region residents claim that some 20,000 refugees are stranded by violence along the border and are facing starvation after having gone over two weeks without food supplies in the under- siege towns and villages.
