“As we were able to cope with the high number of Syrians seeking healthcare over the past two years, we are ready to deal with an increase in numbers,” Hiasat told The Jordan Times in an interview this week.
Hijjawi also noted that the challenge for the ministry is not to reach Syrians living in refugee camps and host communities, but reach the Syrian families who live in tents outside the camps in different parts of the country and have formed separate communities.
Since the Syrian crisis started in March 2011, over half-a-million Syrians have taken refuge in the Kingdom, the majority of whom are women and children.
