The tour was intended to enable direct communication with the Palestinian agricultural workers in the settlements in the Jordan Valley, to inform them of the Israeli laws of employment which apply to workers in the settlements (occupied territories), their rights with regards to pay as well as health and safety work practices. As stated, the tour was also intended to gather information regarding the employers so that their conduct towards the workers can be tracked and future demands can be made of them that they fulfil the employment laws.
