[Frontex] Yle Uutiset - Border Guard forwarding equipment and experts to the Mediterranean

The Finnish Border Guard is dispatching a patrol vessel to Greece, and a surveillance aircraft and a team of experts to Italy to help deal with irregular entry and human trafficking into the EU.

The Border Guard Dornier plane involved in operations by the EU's Frontex will be based in Lampedusa, Italy for one month. The patrol vessel provided will be in Greek waters for two months.
Frontex is the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union. Its main role is to protect the EU’s external borders from irregular entry and people trafficking, as well as infiltration into Europe by possible terrorist elements.
