How are the EU and its Member States addressing the
challenges and opportunities of migration? What has been done so far to help
manage the current migration crisis and the surge in arrivals on the European
shores? What greater efforts should be made to enforce a credible and balanced EU
migration policy?
In the Annual Report published today the Commission
assesses the developments in the areas of immigration and asylum during 2013.
Another two reports, also published today, focus
respectively on the way EU rules are applied for allowing highly skilled non-EU
nationals to come and work in the EU using the EU Blue Card and on the
sanctions against employers who hire irregularly staying non-EU workers.
