Spring
is noted as a season of hope and change; sentiments on which a national
campaign against racism hopes to capitalize. This campaign, which begins on
March 21st, is particularly targeting at combatting racism towards black
Africans in Morocco.
And it's the first of its kind. The campaign "My Name is Not Azzi (a derogatory slur for black people)," represents the collaboration of several different organizations whose mission is to change the they way the country deals with undocumented migrants from sub-Saharan Africa.
It follows on the heels of their successful campaign, "Papers for All" launched some time after the process of standardizing these procedures began.
