“Qatar has promised to offer direct aid to the Lebanese government in order to help the Syrian refugees," Miqati told As-Safir newspaper in comments published Thursday.
"[Doha also vowed] to continue its aid programs [for Syrian refugees] through the International Support Group and humanitarian organizations."
The UN refugee agency UNHCR has registered more than 813,000 Syrians in Lebanon, though unofficial reports put the number of Syrians in the country at over one million.
