Syrian rebels and activists reported that Damascus continued a military offensive across southern Syria over the weekend, blocking off main access routes into Jordan for the fourth straight week and reportedly stranding some 8,000 Syrians along the Jordanian-Syrian border.
“We can’t continue our passage into Jordan because of the fighting and the rockets, and we can’t go back home because of the checkpoints,” Homsawi said from the border town of Tal Shihab, where she and her five children are sharing a shelter in an abandoned bakery with some 10 other families.
