[Libya] CARIM: Law n°19 of 2010 related to the combating of irregular migration, 23/01/2010

The main points of these laws are:

- The law contains 14 articles.

- The law shows 5 acts that constitutes illegal migration (art. 2).

- The law contain penalties of: fine, misdemeanor, crime. The crime can reach as much as life imprisonment (art. 3,4,5,6,7).

- The illegal migrant can be punished for imprisonment of a misdemeanor, plus a fine of not less then one thousand Libyan dinars. In all cases he should be deported after his penalty ends (Art. 5).

- All foreigners residing in Libya should legalize their stay in Libya within a period of 2 months starting from the sate of entry into force of this law, otherwise they are to be considered as illegal migrants and they will be subject to penalties of this law (art. 11).
