The Swedish Presidency will be in charge of adopting the next multi-annual programme on an Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (Stockholm Programme), as a successor to the 2004 Hague Programme. This programme will present the EU’s policy roadmap and legislative timetable over several policy fields, including migration and asylum. Cooperation with third countries, and more particularly with the Mediterranean countries, is growing in importance in the EU’s policies in the field of migration and asylum. The EMHRN wishes to remind the Swedish Presidency of the situation of migrants and refugees in the Mediterranean countries.
