[Israel] Kav La'oved: Migrant farm workers

Migrant farm workers in Israel, most of them from Thailand, are considered the most exploited workforce in Israel (excluding the Occupied Territories). Their pay is very low, reaching an average of shekels 12.8 per hour (about US$4). Thai laborers work overtime and are usually employed seven days a week, contrary to Israeli law. A very high percentage (approximately 80 %) of workers lodging complaints claimed that employers held back their wages, at times for months.
