A law proposal for increasing the power of the Immigration Authority will soon be raised at the Knesset. In this proposal, initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor, there’s a clause formalizing the role of a Supervisor of Migrant Workers' Rights. In the supervisor’s job description it is stated that the supervisor will act to raise the awareness to migrant workers' rights among employers and placement agencies. In addition, the supervisor will act to promote social awareness to such issues by education, advocacy and publicity.
