[General] UN: human rights expert voices concern over treatment of child migrants

Child migrants remain especially vulnerable to human rights abuses as they try, with or without their parents, to cross international borders in search of better lives, a United Nations independent expert has warned. Jorge Bustamante, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, yesterday presented his latest report on his work to the General Assembly at UN Headquarters in New York, saying that children are vulnerable at all stages of the migration process.
